Hypnotherapy is also used to treat negative behaviours that could be worsening a person’s depression. These behaviours may include smoking and poor eating and sleeping habits. Depression can be a response to a distressing or traumatic event. An example is someone reporting, “I was never  depressed before my partner died or before my divorce.”  Signs of depression that may take over slowly leave you feeling helpless and hopeless.

Some symptoms include

  • Not being able to get out of bed in the morning
  • Changes in sleep or food habits, exhaustion
  • Lack of interest in life
  • Body aches and pains

Often these symptoms will be treated with antidepressants or sleep medication by a GP. These treatment methods are aimed at symptom relief but don’t get down to treating the underlying cause of the depression. RTT gets us to the core issues that produce the symptoms.
