I’m often asked about hypnosis, hypnotherapy and some concerns people might have about the process. These questions and answers can help put you at ease before you begin a session.
Is hypnosis safe?
Hypnosis is perfectly safe and is not a dangerous procedure. It is not mind control or brainwashing. A therapist cannot make a person do something embarrassing or that the person doesn't want to do.
Can hypnosis make you do something I don’t want to do?
Your hypnotherapist cannot make you do things against your will and has no control over you, despite popular belief and what you see on “reality TV”.
Hypnosis could really be called self-hypnosis because it’s self-directed and self-controlled. Hypnosis is possible only if you and your hypnotherapist agree to undergo hypnosis. You decide if you will be hypnotised or not.
How will I feel during the session?
You’ll be in a state of relaxation and comfort during your hypnotherapy or RTT session. Some people feel energised after a sessions, while others are deeply relaxed, Everyone’s reaction is completely unique.
I’m super busy - can I do a session over Skype?
Certainly. That’s one of the benefits of hypnotherapy and RTT. You don’t actually have to be in the same room as the therapist. I have many clients who choose Skype over an in-person visit due to their hectic schedule. All you’ll need is a quiet place to do the session and be comfortable.
What if I tell you something that I didn’t want to?
Don’t worry. You’re in complete control, so if there’s something you don’t wish to share with your therapist then you don’t have to and nothing or no-one is going to make you.
